I don’t do perfect. I don’t do performance. I document connection – how it really feels to be there, with the people who matter most. Whether that’s a windswept elopement, a gathering in your parents’ back garden, or a quiet day with someone who sees all of you.

THINGS I LOVE…

Hi, I’m Lou

Lou, Louise, Lou Lou… whatever fits.

I live on the edge of Exmoor with horses in the fields and sea spray in my hair. I’m a photographer, yes – but more than that, I’m here to hold space for something real. The raw stuff. The wild stuff. The kind of love that doesn’t need staging to be felt.

My heart horse, the magnificent ‘Lady Lizzie’ 1989 – 2022 ❤

Things I love… Real emotion and making people laugh. My kids and family (with all my heart). Crashing seas and raging storms. Soft light and gentle kindness. I’m drawn to contrast – the wild and the tender. I see the beauty in people as they are. I believe love is home, and home is love.

I’ve always loved animals – My horses especially. Lizzie was my heart horse. She taught me trust, patience, and presence. That kind of connection lives in everything I make.

When we work together, that same sensitivity carries through. I’m drawn to the emotional undercurrent, the story behind the image. It’s not about performance. It’s about presence. The in-between moments that slip past unnoticed. A glance. A touch. A quiet breath held. That’s what I’m here to see – and to record for you.

MY APPROACH

I’m not here to stage anything. I’m here to witness what’s real. The way you are with each other when no one’s watching. The small gestures, the quiet looks, the unspoken connection. That’s what matters.

I take the time to get to know you before the day, so when the time comes, you feel comfortable being yourselves. I’ll guide gently if you need it, but mostly I stay in the background, noticing what’s honest, what’s moving, what’s true to you.

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. And creating something that feels like you, something that lasts.

MY STYLE

I’m not chasing clean or polished. I’m drawn to raw beauty, rich tones, and that moody, cinematic light that lingers. The kind that doesn’t just show what it looked like, but what it felt like. I look for grit and truth – shadows that hold emotion, tones that run deep, images that hit you somewhere real. Nothing posed. Nothing perfect. Just full of feeling. Every photo is shaped by honesty, crafted with care, and made to last – not just as a record, but as a body of art.

If you’re into nostalgia, I also shoot on analogue film and Super 8. There’s something about film I can’t get enough of – the grain, the softness, the way it captures light and movement. It’s imperfect in all the best ways. More than a record, it gives you something you can actually feel when you look back.

TELL ME EVERYTHING…

I’d love to hear from you!
