PRIVACY POLICY
(Totally GDPR Compliant – Promise!)
Hello & welcome!
Hey there! If you’re reading this, you’re either a privacy policy enthusiast (we respect that) or just want to know what happens to the info you share with me. And because GDPR is all about keeping your data safe and sound, here’s everything you need to know about how I (Louise May Photography) handle your personal data with the utmost care and a dash of cheeky charm.
What Personal Data I Collect (a.k.a. the Essentials)
To give you the best photography experience, I collect just what I need and nothing more. Here’s the deal:
- Your Name – Because “Hey, You” just isn’t as personal.
- Your Email Address – So we can stay in touch without smoke signals.
- Your Mobile Number – Handy for finding you on your wedding day if you go missing in action.
- Your Address – For posting those gorgeous wedding photos right to your doorstep.
- Photos of You and Your Guests – Well… that’s the whole reason we’re here, isn’t it?
How I Collect & Store Your Data (The Nitty-Gritty)
When you email me or fill out my contact form, your details land safely in my inbox (secured by a password and occasionally an extra sprinkle of good luck). Your info then finds a cozy home in my super secure, GDPR-compliant CRM software, Táve. Only I can access it, and I keep things locked down with a unique password that would make even Sherlock scratch his head.
If you just pop by to say hello but don’t end up booking me (heartbreaking, I know), your data will be deleted from my system. And if you’re browsing my site, don’t worry—it’s got that fancy “https://” security seal to keep things safe.
P.S. I don’t store personal info directly on my website, so no worries there!
Blog Comments (a.k.a. the Public Soapbox)
I sometimes showcase my work on my blog (including photos from your fabulous day). Anyone can see the blog, so if you leave a comment, it’ll be visible to everyone who stops by. Just maybe don’t post your credit card details there, okay?
Your Rights: Confirmation, Access, Rectification & Deletion
Want to know what info I have on you? Just ask! I can confirm, send over a summary, and update any details if needed. And if you ever want all your data erased, just say the word. I don’t recommend doing this before your wedding day (because then I’d be winging it!), but after that, I’m happy to help you go off the grid, digitally speaking.
How I Use Your Data
I use your email to send updates about your shoot, chat about album options, or occasionally share something we talked about, like that fantastic coffee shop with the mind-blowing cake. I promise never to spam you with endless newsletters (who has time for that?), though I might drop you a line when I post a new blog.
If I bring an assistant on board, they’ll have access to your phone number just for the day, to help locate you in case you go AWOL (it happens!). And don’t worry, I’ll keep your info close and safe—no oversharing here!
Retention & Deletion (A.K.A. How Long I Keep Your Data)
I keep your details on file for as long as you have access to your online gallery—makes life easier, right? But if you want to close your account or have all info erased after the event, just let me know, and I’ll make it disappear like magic.
The Image Privacy Bit (a.k.a. All About Your Lovely Faces)
Photographs of you and your guests are, in GDPR speak, “personal data.” But rest assured, I won’t be selling your wedding photos to a hemorrhoid cream company (nope, nope, nope). If anyone ever wanted to use one of your images, I’d check in with you first. After all, consent is everything.
I share my work on social media and my website, but only with your permission. You have every right to keep things private if that’s what you prefer. Even if you’re cool with sharing, I’ll send you a preview of any blog post about your day before it goes live, so you can bin any photos you’re not in love with.
Third-Party Services
I use GDPR-compliant third-party tools (like Táve for CRM and Pixieset for online galleries) to keep things running smoothly. They help with the techy side of things but don’t get to touch anything they shouldn’t. Promise.
Data Breach Protocol (Just In Case!)
If anything ever happens that might put your data at risk, I’ll let you know ASAP. My systems are secure, but we believe in keeping things transparent.
Use of Super Cool (But Totally Secure) Super8 and Analogue Film Data
If you opt for that gorgeous Super8 or analogue film, know that the data captured (a.k.a. your glorious moments) stays with me and is treated with the same care as digital photos.
GDPR Mission Accomplished
So there you have it! I’m here to capture your story, not exploit your data. If you ever have questions or want to adjust your privacy settings, just reach out—I’m more than happy to chat about it. Thanks for trusting me with your details and faces. I promise to treat them like the treasures they are.
